U borovice lookout tower in Roprachtice

We have a tip for you for a trip this weekend. The private U borovice lookout tower was built on the initiative of František Hubař, a native of the Rrachracht, for the pleasure of him and others.

The lookout tower is 18 m high, brick, with stone cladding and equipped with a wooden gallery from which you can see the Giant Mountains, Bezděz and the Eagle Mountains.

František Hubař, a native of Rrachracht, built an eighteen-meter-high lookout tower with the help of his neighbors. Above it is a wooden gallery made of larch wood, the work of local carpenter Pacholík. The U borovice lookout tower is named after the last pine tree, which was built under the top of the builder's father and only one of which has survived.

70 steps lead to the tower with a square floor plan and the lookout tower provides a very good circular view thanks to its unforested surroundings. The Jizera Mountains, the Giant Mountains and the Bohemian Paradise are well visible from here. You can also see Ještěd, Bezděz, Jizera, Štěpánka, Kozí Hřbety, Žalý, Benecko, Novopacko, the outlines of the Orlické Mountains, Tábor, Kozákov and twice a year Milešovka. The lookout tower is located 5 kilometers from Vysoké nad Jizerou.

Note: It is open in summer with good visibility on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm, in winter from 10 am to 3 pm. There is daily traffic during the holidays.
